The Pierre – A Taj Hotel



Overview

Known for its gracious service, the iconic Fifth Avenue hotel overlooking the emerald expanse of Central Park will re-open on June 1st following a meticulous $100 million renovation to create new guestroom and bath interiors. Guests are welcomed into a marble lobby with exquisitely arranged fresh flowers, graceful archways and museum-caliber artwork. White-gloved elevator attendants whisk guests to their rooms. The hotel is located close to a wide array of New York's fabled attractions, from the renowned shopping of Fifth and Madison Avenues to outstanding museums and cultural centers. Dining In

The $100 million renovation also included the reconfiguring of the first floor public areas to accommodate a new restaurant, Le Caprice, as well as 2 East, a new lobby lounge. Le Caprice will open in the Summer 2009, and will be modeled after its legendary counterpart in London. The eclectic menu will be based on Le Caprice in London, which includes European classics with some international influence. 2 East, located off the main lobby will feature light fare, afternoon tea and a striking copper bar.

Recreation and Health

Available 24 hours, the fitness center is adorned with hand-painted murals and Italian marble. Cardio machines are individually equipped with TVs, stereos, and headphones. The fitness center features a selection of resistance machines and free weights. Chilled face towels, fresh fruit, and bottled water are provided. Certified personal trainers are available upon request. Massages are offered in the health club’s treatment room, as well as in the privacy of guestrooms. Central Park, across the street from The Pierre, encompasses 843 acres of meadows, woods, cliffs, ravines, gardens, paths, and lakes in an emerald setting.
